Munnar- A Panoramic Escape
Cradled in the lap of Western Ghats, Munnar has become a go to escape from a bustling and hectic lifestyle. Located in Kerela, this enchanting hill station is known for its vast expanse of misty mountains and green laden landscape. Munnar has something to offer to everyone, whether you're an adventure seeker, a nature lover or just a traveler seeking solitude and tranquility. I also was that person who travelled to Munnar from Bengaluru for one such escape.
Panoramic Views of Tea Gardens:
On my visit to Munnar, one thing that captivated me were the wide stretch of tea gardens and the aroma of fresh tea leaves. Munnar Tea Garden View Point, Tata Tea Museum and Kolukkumalai Tea estate offers breathtaking view of lush green tea plantation and while walking through these plantations, you get to witness the artistry of tea plucking.
Another thing that I found mesmerizing was the mist covered valleys. They create a dreamy atmosphere with the promise of a panoramic view of the Western Ghats. Places like Top Station are scenic view points that creates magical experience with clouds drifting through mountains, best view for your photography sessions!
Wildlife and Flora in Munnar:
Munnar is also a best place to explore wildlife if you're wildlife enthusiast as it is home to the Eravikulam National Park which hosts endangered Nilgiri Tahr. This National Park also provides the majestic view of Anamudi hills, the highest peak in South India, an adventure for trekkers.
Talking about the flora in Munnar, visiting Government Botanical Garden is just perfect as it offers wide array of flora such as orchids, ferns and medicinal plant with a view to die for. It is a best place if you are looking for a jog or stroll during your evenings in Munnar.
Scenic Beauty, Falls and More:
Munnar boasts some of the most tranquil waterfalls including Attukal, Lakkam, and Nayamakad Falls. These beauties grants you a refreshing dip in nature. Even the drive to these waterfall are worth while as they gift your eyes with the view of misty valleys.
Echo Point is another beautiful sight as it offers breathtaking lake view and is a spot for photographers and travelers looking to unwind.
Mattupetty Dam and Kundala Lake are the two must visit places which provides you with the choice between pedal boats and rowboats to explore the mountains all the while sitting in the boats in the mother nature's lap.
In my view, Munnar is more than just a tourist place as it can leave an imprint on your soul and a pang in your heart while leaving. These enchanting hills, in my opinion comes under a "Must Visit' category as this beauty can rejuvenate your soul whether you're wandering through tea gardens, gazing at misty mountains or simply enjoying your waterfall moment!
